New Executive Officer

Wairarapa Bowls Association proudly announces the appointment of Gavin Hamlyn as its new Executive Officer, succeeding Warren Fisher, who has played a vital role in advancing the organisation. Although he has only been playing the sport for three years, his relentless pursuit of improvement have seen him rise rapidly within the ranks. Representing Wairarapa at the Intercentre for the last three years, Gavin brings extensive on-the-green experience and a passion for the sport to his new role.

Beyond his achievements on the green, Hamlyn's academic background includes a Masters in Psychology. He also brings extensive experience in sports administration, particularly in golf, where he has dedicated over 25 years as a golf coaching professional.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Hamlyn shares, "As someone who is passionate about bowls, it's an awesome opportunity to help grow the game and create an enjoyable experience for all those involved in it."

As Warren Fisher transitions from his role as Executive Officer, the association extends its heartfelt appreciation for his contributions and the significant work he has accomplished during his tenure. Fisher's dedication and commitment have laid a solid foundation for the association's future growth.

With a focus on growth, inclusivity, and community engagement, the organisation is set to build upon its past successes and embrace new opportunities. Bowls Wairarapa warmly welcomes Gavin's involvement in this journey.
